Meet Mia!

Are you looking for good looks and a great personality -- that sweet girl who loves everyone she meets? Do you wish you could find a dog with high drive, but doesn't mind hanging out, too? Then Mia might just be the girl you've been searching for.

There's one thing you should know about Mia, she lives to play! She'll play ball and tug as long as you want, and she even enjoys just playing with toys by herself. Mia is now house trained and crate trained, but she came to rescue with no training, so she can be a bit of a wild child at times.

However, she's been working hard to learn her manners, and really gets a kick out of learning all sorts of new things. She's learning quickly to sit instead of jumping on people, sit and wait at doors, walk on leash and leave things alone. She'll need a family that will commit to continuing her education to help her reach her potential. Her keen mind, eagerness to work with people, and her love of playing and running give her great potential for sports --agility, flyball, or whatever her new family enjoys.

Mia's biggest hurdle was learning how to play well with other dogs. She has a lot of herding instinct and intimidated some dogs. She has met a lot of dogs while she has been in her foster home, and now does well with most of the dogs she meets. She's learning to "play nice" and has learned to enjoy the company of other dogs now. The other dogs like running and playing with her, too!

While Mia loves to run and play all day, she is also very content to relax in the evening and chew on a bone or sit quietly by your chair for some petting. Mia is always eager to meet a new person, and she just adores children.

Mia is ready for a forever home with a family who loves Border Collies and their quirks. She is an active, happy girl who needs a family that will continue her training, and give her the play and exercise she adores (and also a good daily dose of petting, of course!) She is up-to-date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative, spayed, and her hips checked out great for any dog sport.

We found Mia listed with the Border Collie Rescue of Texas. Mia is being fostered in the Houston/Katy area.
