Meet Star!

Star is a nine year old sable male Collie who was rescued from a puppy mill. He is a quiet, laid back, gentle, and reserved purebred who loves to chew on rawhides. He enjoys having his chest and face rubbed, and loves the attention he gets when being brushed. He is not afraid of new people, and warms up quickly to everyone he meets. Star enjoys roaming the fenced yard, and has made no attempt to find an escape.

Star is house trained, but not crate trained. His foster family is working on basic commands such as sit and stay. He is good with kids, and great with other dogs. It is unknown how Star is around cats.

Star enjoys time alone as well, lounging in his comforter. He is described by his foster family as “a big teddy bear with a lot of love to give,” is great with everyone, and will fit right in to any family, if given the chance.

The adoption contribution for Star is $175.00. Please contact Daryl at for more information on Star. For information on how to adopt Star or to see other Almost Home dogs that are available for adoption, click here.

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio's mission is to provide homeless Collies, Shelties, and mixes of those breeds, a safe haven where they will receive medical care, nutrition, and love until an approved home is found; to reduce the number of unwanted pets by altering all dogs in our rehoming program; to educate the public about the importance of altering pets, and to promote the message that owning a pet is a lifelong commitment. AHDRO is a 501 (c)(3), all volunteer organization.
