Who would have thought what a big role pet insurance would have played in my life?
First, it was the time I was attacked by another dog in 2005, then a dislocated toe and a broken metacarpal in 2006, then a pulled iliopsoas muscle in 2008. Mum jokes sometimes that I'm the $10,000 dog without a documented pedigree.
Luckily Mum had signed me up for a catastrophic pet insurance plan the first time she saw what I threw up in the car when I got car sick at a very young age. She had no idea what I was taking in. Oh, she watched me closely when I was a wee pup, but I was sneaky you see. And good thing she did get that insurance policy, it's come in real handy and paid for a lot of my injuries over the years.
Whether you get a catastrophic policy (that pays for first time illness and injuries) or you get a maintenance health plan, we really recommend it to help defray the expensive costs of veterinary care.
If you live in the UK, here is a great site that can help you decide what pet insurance plan and company is right for you. And if you are looking at comparisons for credit cards, they can help you with that too!
May be worth checking out, you never know what can happen!
