Meet T-Bo!

Check out this little Pug boy!! T-Bo is just 4 years old and weighs about 13 pounds. He has obviously not had the best life and care in the world. His rescuers pulled T-Bo from a shelter where he had been dumped by his owners. He has some skin infections that are being cleared up with some medicine from our vet and some special medicated baths.

T-Bo is already looking so much better!! His coat is already improving and he should not have any problems with his skin and wrinkles other than what normally affects pugs. A family that is knowledgeable about the Pug breed would probably be the best fit for T-Bo. He has a very sweet and happy personality. T-Bo adores people and is a happy and friendly dog.

He gives kisses to everyone and will follow you around all day just for the joy of being by your side. :) T-Bo is also good with the other dogs at the rescue and cats. He would also be fine in a family with children. Are you looking for that dog that you can rescue and save from a neglectful life? T-Bo fits that criteria perfectly!! And he has a sweet and happy personality for you to enjoy!!

We found T-Bo through the Rescue Farm in Poland, Indiana.

Meet Sparrow!

Sparrow is an adorable, but quirkly little dog whose nickname is 'Secret Squirrel' because she runs around like she's on a mission whose purpose is known only to her. You may want to look into extra Delta faucets to keep her hydrated!!!

She's friendly once she gets to know you (enjoys being petted and will give kisses), but wary of strangers.

Sparrow gets along with other dogs but is submissive and sometimes gets picked on by others, so she is quite happy being with alone or with one other compatible dog. She comes and kennels up on command and is well behaved in the house.

We found Sparrow through Save the Strays Animal Rescue in Bethune, South Carolina.

For more information about Sparrow, click here!

Meet Jackson!

Jackson appears to be a small poodle/portugese water dog mix. Since he will remain small, we think the mix may be toy poodle/portugese water dog. He weighs about 15-20 pounds, is about 9-10 months old as of November 2009, and the vet says he should either stay close to his weight or max out about 25 pounds.

He has portugese water dog features (loose curl/wavy black hair, webbed toes, white bib, 3 white socks, and a long tail with a very small white tip). His name is Jackson, he is an extremely handsome young man, is very lovable and loves to play fetch with the ball. Since he's a young one you won't need to look into any life insurance rate for him :) As you can imagine, at this age, he is full of energy. He is presently going through the shelter training program.

We met Jackson through Georgia Poodle Rescue in Milton, Georgia.

Happy Holidays!

Meet Phoenix!

Phoenix is a peppy girl...with lots of love to give someone.

She is up to date on shots, neutered, microchipped and waiting for a home. She is only about 30 pounds and is 4 years old. And with you're help maybe she won't have to look for jobs in philly?

We found Phoenix through Pet Tender Angels in Greenville, South Carolina. They are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit that provides rescue and rehabilitation for homeless animals, focusing on feral, stray, abandoned, and special needs dogs. Pet Tender Angels gives a second chance to animals who would otherwise have no other chance.

Meet Cowboy!

This sweet, fuzzy 10 year old cowpoke is easy on the leash and housetrained. When he’s not out on the range, Cowboy is a real cuddler. You'll want to pick up a box cutter cause you'll want to shower him with gifts when you bring him home!

Cowboy’s owner had a stroke, so he ended up at the shelter.
Now he’s happy to be cooling his heels at Muttville, where he’s hoping to rustle up a forever home.

Cowboy always lived in a fairly mellow environment , so we would prefer that for him! Though super affectionate he can get grumpy, too long in the saddle, so an adult only household for this boy!

We found Cowboy through Muttville in San Francisco, California.

Can you help?

As part of Johann's Second Annual Howling Howliday Giveaway we are helping my shelter raise some needed funds to help their rescues find a furever, wonderful home just like I did back in 2004.

We are working hard to reach our goal of $500, but are only 25% of goal. Can you help? Just a few $$$ would go a long way...and there's still time to enter my giveaway and win some pawsome prizes!

If you can, just click on the donate button below and help some pups from my former shelter - the Southside Animal Shelter - this Holiday season!

Meet Demi!

This is Demi. She is a one year old Belgian Malinois mix, who originally came into rescue with her sister, and was adopted but then returned when my owners were moving. She is very sweet and social and still very puppyish.

She'll need some help settling into a new routine when she finds her furever home. Demi would benefit from a refresher course in potty training, and crate training. After all, she's still a puppy, and does like to explore and get into mischief! She would be at the top of her class. Just look how nicely she's sitting for her picture!

We found Demi through Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter in Kansas City, Missouri.

For more information about Demi, click here!

Meet Gypsy!

Gyspy is about 5 months old. She's an American Staffordshire Terrier. She is one of the most affectionate dogs you can imagine! She is extremely obedient and VERY smart. She's beautiful too; very healthy and a sweet face.

If you give her a chance she would love nothing better than to crawl up in your lap. She is more than willing to please and wants your approval so much! She needs leash training but knows how to sit and stay for short periods. She does great with other animals and loves everyone she meets.

We found Gypsy through the Kokomo Humane Society in Kokomo, Indiana.

For more information about Gypsy, click here!

Meet Abby!

Abby is about a 1 year old female long legged, broken coat JRT. The rescue organization has acquired several dogs from a very unusual circumstance.

The owner lived out of his truck breeding JRTS, he passed away and the police found him in the truck with 7 JRTs. They have all been placed into rescue.

Abby is active, but doesn't need any drug rehab because you'll be linked with the new FDA pet health and safety widget! She's just a bit confused right now, she is accustomed to being at the state parks and people petting her, she lived with a lot of JRTs and is becoming accustomed to new dogs. She is passive, we think housebroken, likes walks, my guess would be no cats.

We found Abby through South by Southwest Jack Russell Terrier Rescue, Inc., in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

For more information about Abby, click here!

Meet Aladdin!

This dog is no street urchin - Aladdin is a diamond in the rough, a true Prince! Aladdin is a royal looking soft yellow terrier mix who is very friendly, well behaved and does enjoy playing with other dogs and toys. Aladdin is 4-6 months old and 25 pounds (as of 10/11).

Very friendly and fun - loves all other dogs and cats and children -- making him an ideal family companion. Long walks and trips to dog park are in his future (and magic carpet rides if available).

We found Aladdin through Paws 4 You Rescue, Inc., in Miami, Florida.

We found Kyla through Oconee County Animal Shelter in Seneca, South Carolina.

Meet Dot!

Dot just arrived in Cincinnati from Naples, Florida. She is quite the sweetheart and just wants to be friends with everyone. She is almost a pup – being only 19 months old. Dot is quite stunning – white chest, white feet and a white spot on her nose. She never raced or trained – maybe because all she wants to do is play. She discovered the stuffed toys immediately upon arrival.

Her hobbies are playing with stuffed toys and running in the yard. She will do best with a fenced in yard and another dog to play with. This lovely girl gets along well with cats and other dogs and is hoping to find her loving forever family and soft couch very soon!

We found Dot through Joey's Greyhound Friends in Cincinnati, Ohio.

For more information about Dot, click here!

Meet Barron!

Barron came from a local shelter and is looking for his forever home. He is a big boy but gentle with his human companion.

He will patiently stand beside you and be happy just to have your hand on his head for security. However he is not good with other male dogs or smaller dogs, but he loves the ladies. He just needs a home that loves big boys.

We found Barron through N.A.B.S. (Noah's Ark Bayou Santuary Animal Rescue) in Alvin, Texas.

Johann's Howling Howliday Giveaway!

Yep, that's right, it's time for Johann's Annual Howling Howliday Giveaway!

The contest runs through midnight EST Christmas Day, Dec. 25th, 2009, and there's still lots of time to enter!

It's a Holiday-themed photo contest, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. The photo with the most votes and views will be the winner, second place number of votes and views gets second place...(well you get the idea)! The prizes are gift prize packages made up of some of the most amazing dog products on the market!

And this year, we've added in a way to help some pups in need! We encourage every one who enters to help out the shelter and the nice folks, that rescued me from a life on the streets. They helped Mum find me and give me the most amazing life a dog could ever have.

My shelter is the Southside Animal Shelter, a no-kill non-profit shelter, located here in Indianapolis, that rescues pets from all over the city. They take the unwanted ones from shelters that are full, find them roaming the streets (like I was, with my Mum, sisters and brothers), and take in all kinds of unwanted kitties and pups, then finds them amazing homes, just like I have. They will keep them all fed, healthy and happy until they get adopted if it's one day or even several years.

We're not asking for much, just a dollar if that's all you can spare. We know it's tough times, so if you're participating see if you can spare some to help out the needy pups and kitties, K? And ask your friends and family who are voting for ya to make a small donation too! The shelter sure could use some foods and supplies to help the pets find their furever homes!

We want to siriusly thank all the companies for their amazing generosity in making some pawsome contributions to the prize packages. Check them all out on our contest page.

To help get you some votes, we made a cool button you can put on your website or blog to promote your pawticipation! Just right click and save to your 'puter. Then add it to your blog or website. Or you can click to the contest page, find the button, click on it and grab the html code.

Head on over, register, upload your photo and get your friends and family to start voting. (Only one vote per person per day, K?) There's no need for visitors to register to vote for you, or add a comment to your photo. The earlier you enter, the better chance you have of racking up those votes!

So what are you waiting for? Get goin!

Meet Peyton!

Peyton came to rescue through a friend who found him stray. He is still pretty thin and a little timid when meeting new people. Once he realizes that he is not going to be hurt he warms up pretty quick. He may be mixed with something, but they're not sure what.

He is about 8 lbs and probably won't get much bigger(except for filling out). He has the most beautiful eyes that are light brown almost yellow. He has a very sweet disposition as soon as he is comfortable. He rides well, does good on a leash, and loves to cuddle. He is mostly housebroke. He will probably do best in a house with no more than 1 or 2 other dogs. He does get along well with dogs and cats.

We found Peyton through 911 Pet Rescue, Inc., in Centerpoint, Indiana.

For more information about Peyton, click here!

Meet Honey!

Honey is possibly a Schnauzer/Cairn mix as she has long legs. She is adorable and extremely smart. She needs a little help in the housebreaking area but she should pick it up quickly.

She does not like cats and she is not good with the other dogs. And needs to be with older children please.

We met Honey through Westie/Cairn Terrier Rescue of SW Ohio in Williamsburg, Ohio.

For more information about Honey, click here!

Meet Harriet!

Harriet is an American Hairless Terrier (formerly known as a Hairless Rat Terrier). This breed looks similar to the Chinese Crested Dog.

She is a young spayed female. Harriet is sweet and quiet. She tolerates cats as long as they do not bother her. She is housebroken.

We found Harriet through Whiskers, Tails and Ferals in Napa, California.

For more information about Harriet, click here!

Meet Dixie!

Dixie is a sweet and lazy old bloodhound who is a lay at your feet kind of dog. Although she loves to get petted, go for walks, and take rides in the car, her very favorite things to do are eat and sleep!

Dixie does well with all dogs she has met and she tolerates even the rowdy ones, although she is protective of her food around other dogs and must be fed separately. She has also lived with cats and does fine with them too!

Dixie has always lived indoors, and came to APB when her owner had to move from a house to an apartment and couldn't bring Dixie along. She is totally house trained and does not need to be crated. She'd like nothing better than to stick with you on a code night close to the furnace with new furnace filters.

However, she will counter surf shamelessly when home alone and has a knack for getting items that her foster mom was sure were out of her reach, so her new family might want to keep her in a bedroom or other comfortable area where no food is available. Dixie is used to sleeping on the couch or in bed.

We found Dixie through Animal Placement Bureau in Lansing, Michigan.

For more information about Dixie, click here!

Meet Coda!

Coda is very sweet and loves everyone! He seems to be house trained. Does great on a leash, good with other pets and kids. Coda is house trained.

We found Coda through Pet Connection in Falmouth, Kentucky.

For more information about Coda, click here!

Meet Joy!

Joy is an energetic little girl that loves to play!

She loves a good run and needs to go to a home that will keep her exercised. She is pretty good with most dogs but is a very in your face type of dog and some dogs do not like that.

She's a sweet girl but needs an experienced home to handle her energy.

We found Joy through Autumn Acres in Kansas City, Kansas.

For more information about Joy, click here!

Meet Cesar!

Cesar is almost ready for adoption. He is the happiest little guy. He was surrendered to rescue from a breeder. He was very matted when they got him so they had to shave him, but his fur is coming back nicely. He is ready for the cushy life.

Cesar loves all attention and would love a home that lets him hang out on the couch and just be a pet. He is around 4-5 years old.

We found Cesar through Midwest Dog Rescue Network in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

For more information about Cesar, click here!

Meet Max!

Max is a male Shar Pei, 4-5 years old, red fawn colored brushcoat and weighs about forty pounds. He can only be described as a lovable, mellow friend, who enjoys long walks, tummy scratched and in return gives unconditional love.

Nothing would make him happier than to simply keep you company, be in a corner in your kitchen, watch television with you, and or listening attentively to anything you had to share. He is and needs to be a wonderful companion dog and can adjust to another dog’s presence, but would rather be the center of attention.

He is allergic to meat, but has no problem with poultry blended treats and food. Max has a chronic ear infection which is treatable, flushed every day or two (he likes to have this attention). Max can adjust easily to a new environment with just a little patience for him to get to know you, once he is assured of your steady companionship. It will be a lasting friendship.

We found Max through Rescue A Shar-Pei (RASP)in Porter Beach, Indiana.

For more information about Max, click here!

Meet Popeye!

Popeye is a beautiful American Bulldog. At about 2-3 years old, he is a huge people-lover and desperately wants to be a member of a forever family.

He knows all of his commands (sit, lay down, shake, go to bed), is house broken, and behaves very nicely having free reign of the house. You may want to pick up some Symantec support so you can get this cutie on the Internet!

He is currently living with three dogs in his foster home and is happy to romp in the backyard with them. However, he tends to guard his toys, so he may be happiest in a home where he is the only dog or a home that can work with him on sharing.

He is very friendly with other dogs and people when he's out on his walks, and is very relaxed when surrounded by large crowds.

Popeye was abandoned by his previous owners and left to be euthanized at a high-kill facility in Indiana. He has been extremely confused and lonely since being left by his family, and wants so badly to be loved and back in a home. He is an amazing dog just waiting to unite with a new family.

We met Popeye through One Tail at a Time in Chicago, Illinois.

For more information about Popeye, click here!

Meet McGruff!

The minute you meet McGruff you can't help but fall in love with his wiry fur and cute beard. He is a distinguished gentleman approximately 6 yrs. of age. Although small in stature, he is large in personality. He is great with other dogs, cats and children. Give McGruff some time to bond to you and he will be a friend for life.

He is an outdoor dog and feels most comfortable in spaces where he does not feel confined. McGruff would be perfect for a family or older couple that could have McGruff with them most of the time. He is fearful of being left alone. Although an outdoor dog he is guilty of loving the pleasures of a warm bed inside the house at night.

We found McGruff through Second Chance Animal Adoption in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

For more information about McGruff, click here!

Meet Kody!

Kody sure has come a long way since coming to rescue. He is now totally housebroken, knows how to use a doggie door and is playing great with other dogs (from a 12 pound pug puppy to a 165 pound rottie). He shares his toys and food and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Kody is just a great puppy and is most certainly ready for a home to call his own.

Kody is an absolutely precious little wooly husky mix boy, approximately 8 months old. Kody was surrendered to rescue by his owner who had him tethered to a tree in the backyard since Kody was a baby. Kody's coat was so matted that we had to have him shaved all the way down.

Kody is currently in a foster home in Georgia where he is getting lots of attention, love and playtime. Since he had spent his whole life by himself he still does not know proper doggie etiquette but being a smart boy he is learning quickly. He already knows "sit" and is walking pretty well on a leash.

Kody is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. Now all he needs is a loving home that will give him the attention and structure that he so richly deserves.

We met Kody through Rotts 'n Pups Northern Rescue in North Haledon, New Jersey.

For more information about Kody, click here!

Meet Mallory!

This is Mallory, a little Maltese. She only weighs about 7 pounds and is about 7 years old. She is really sweet and quiet, and loves to hang out with people and to snuggle. Are you available to snuggle? Just wait until she gets her makeover.

We found Mallory through UnderDog Rescue of Florida in Bradenton, Florida.

Meet BayBay!

BayBay is a Border Collie mix that is sweet as can be. He is around a year old and about 35-40lbs. He is a very sweet boy that gets along well with dogs of all sizes and cats. He is a young boy that enjoys playing and just being loved.

Bay-Bay is doing great in his new foster home! He loves playing tug with his foster brother and enjoys romping in the backyard... boy is he quick! BayBay is interested in the cat but doesn't seem to show any signs of wanting to hurt her. BayBay is doing awesome with his basic commands (sit, down, out, stay) and hasn't had any accidents in the house.

He is a playful puppy who just wants to be loved and while he's got puppy energy to spare, also enjoys curling up on the couch with you for scratches and pets. Bay-Bay is a great boy and would love for you to make him a part of your home.

We found BayBay through Paws of Tomorrow Rescue in Delaware.

For more information about BayBay, click here!

Meet Shadow!

Shadow was rescued out of a neglectful situation. Two young kids owned him and loved him until they got a new puppy. Then they decided he wasn't worth their time anymore. He got no attention except when he was tied on a short chain two times a day.

Now that he's in rescue, Shadow loves to go for car rides (especially if you go through the drive thru and grab him a burger). He enjoys playing with other dogs and actually helped 'save' his girlfriend, another foster dog, Phoenix.

He does need someone who devote time to him. He needs a lot of exercise and someone will discipline him and not let him get away with a lot. He will try to push you to see how far he can go. An experienced owner would be best. He does hang around the yard and not run off. Shadow just wants a home to call his own.

We found Shadow through Bully Breed Rescue in New Canaan, Connecticut.

For more information about Shadow, click here!

Meet Ezra!

Attention runners, bikers, and other outdoors enthusiasts-- Ezra has been waiting for you! This girl is a wonderful retriever mix that has been with the shelter for sometime now anxiously awaiting her forever home!

She's a great young dog that gets along with all people (including kids!) and dogs her size but would do best in a home without cats or other small animals. Her foster mom is currently taking her through an obedience class where she is learning some doggie manners to be on her best behavior on all of your adventures! She knows sit, shake, lay down, and she will wait patiently for her dinner until she gets the OK to munch away!

We met Ezra through Animal House (Dog Rescue) in Fort Collins, Colorado.

For more information about Ezra, click here!

Meet Ivy!

Ivy is an extra-sweet and adorable female Papillon puppy. She is black and white with unique markings and the cutest "funny face". Ivy is full of life. She loves to play with other small dogs and with toys. While playing she has an endearing habit of regularly returning to her human to sort of "check in", get a pat and a "good girl", and then she's off to her doggy pal again for a game of tug or chase. She is very agile and loves to run fast, circling the yard and making herself a private obstacle course through patio furniture, potted plants, etc.

Ivy is 7-8 months old and very much still a puppy but she is not destructive and she is very well-behaved. She likes to please. She knows sit and stay and will easily learn new commands and tricks, as she is smart and eager. She is good on a leash. We're not sure how much socialization she had previously. She is a tad timid with strangers but not fearful.

This darling girl weighs 6-7 pounds now. She is lean and long. She has recently started growing her adult coat so we expect her to sport a nice, silky Papillon coat and especially cute "culottes" as a mature adult.

Ivy is an alpha female and in Papillons that means that she is not inclined to get along all the time with other female dogs or alpha males.

We found Ivy through Papillons and Playmates (PAPS) in Vista, California.

For more information about Ivy, click here!

Meet Snaggle!

Snaggle is the balancing icon of the famous frizzy haired beings - Phyllis Diller and Einstein. He's balances out the kookiness of Diller and the genius of Einstein with his sweet and centered happiness. This guy plays with all dogs bringing his sunny disposition, and nary a confrontation.

He cheerfully follows along at Fiesta Island, greeting all. Snaggle's hair totally says terrier, no? Well get this, no feisty edge typical of terriers, and he's not a barker. In addition to his good looks, he's got that adorable underbite.

How awesome can this sweet guy get? He hangs with his people, in a devoted and ready to help you out with anything attitude. If he put on a little tuxedo, he'd be the most sought after butler. And you may want to invest in some merchant services, and start to bottle and sell that devotion! Snaggle is good with kids, crate trained, and house trained; he's two years old and weighs about 15, 16 pounds.

We found Snaggle through The Barking Lot Rescue in San Diego, California.

For more information about Snaggle, click here!

Meet Flakes!

Flakes and pal Lucky - what a pair of sweet angels! They were found wandering on their own in Southern California and were taken to a shelter. Through a network of local volunteers and long-distance transporters, they made their way to safety at the Sanctuary and now only await a forever home. You'd be so lucky to get Flakes and Lucky, you'd wanna celebrate with cigars!

They are incredibly sweet and healthy after a period of neglect. We believe they may be a mother & son pair or brother/sister; but they're obviously related. They're great with everyone and everything and deserve the opportunity to share their love for the many years they have ahead of them. They only need a family now; is it yours?

We found Flakes and Lucky through Pyles Of Smiles, Inc., in Cottonwood, California.

For more information about Flakes and Lucky, click here!

Meet GiGi!

This is GiGi. She is about 7 years old. She is fantastic with the children and has taken a basic obedience class to work on improving her leash behavior. She's not fond of other female dogs, maybe because she lived at a monastery of nuns for 5 years and was the only girl dog.

Gigi walks ok on a leash (she is working on that) and just loves her human friends. If you are looking for a very sweet girl and will allow her to be part of your family it would be great!

We found Gigi through Valley Dogs in Gilbert, Arizona.

For more information about Gigi, click here!

Meet Jason!

Jason is a happy, playful, social fella who is eager for attention. He is about 7 months old. He loves walks and car rides. He loves anything that involves him being with his people and meeting new people. He is very smart and learns fast. He is good with other dogs and will try to be friends if they will be with him.

The other part of his Pyrenees mix is most likely from a herding breed as he is more active then a typical Pyr this age. He needs a large yard and a lot of exercise with an interactive family. He is a guardian and will bark away intruders, be they real or imaginary.

Adjustment to a residential neighborhood would be forthcoming, but it would take time and patience because of his alertness to everything in his surroundings. A country setting would be ideal.

We found Jason through Ozark Dogs in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

For more information about Jason, click here!

Meet Bruno!

Bruno is a 4-year old neutered male shepherd/chow mix. He is a very sweet and energetic boy who is good with kids. He loves attention and he is well behaved indoors.

Bruno would fit in well with a family with other dogs. He is an awesome playmate outside and excellent snuggler inside.

We found Bruno through the Seward Animal Shelter in Seward, Alaska.

She is heartworm negative, current on her all her shots, on flea and heartworm preventive, house trained; crate trained, and dose well in her obedience and leash training.

Skittles has a soft coat and tons of personality. Skittles loves rope toys, hoofs and treats but would rather be in your lap o r close by to her people. She is a peacemaker and friendly with other dogs, kids and people but will alert you to a visitor or trespasser. Skittles needs a home with another dog for her to play with and people who will walk her, play with her, cuddle with her and enjoy her comedic endeavors.

We met Skittles through SOS Beagle Rescue in Birmingham, Alabama.

For more information about Skittles, click here!

Meet Duncan!

We're turning this blog post over to...Duncan!

Hello Everybody! My name is Duncan. I am large, around 70lbs, but I'm a gentle giant. I love loungin' around and takin' it easy. I do love to get out and play with my roommate Coconut and she is a fun little red pit bull mix.

When I came to the shelter I was really skinny and had lots of fleas. The animal control officer picked me up in the parking lot of the hospital. I was really bad off and was trying to get admitted. Alax, it was only a human hospital. Everything is fine now. The nice folks at the shelter fixed me up and now I can't wait to get a nice family of my own.
We know Duncan would fully enjoy playing Wii with you! So what are you waiting for? Duncan is currently being cared for by Friends of Gonzales Animal Shelter in Gonzales, Texas.

For more information about Duncan, click here!

Meet Howie!

Howie is an adorable mix of Beauceron. He is approximately two years old and as loving as can be. Howie is shy but wants to please people, very affectionate and trusting.

Howie is a snuggle bug who like to give gentle kiss and needs a gentle soul who will work with him and give lots of love. He is crate trained and good with other dogs, but a little leary with small children.

We found Jay currently being cared for by the Norco Animal Shelter in Norco, California.

For more information about Jay, click here!

Meet Kleo!

Kleo has had a very hard start in life. She was adopted as a puppy to a family then given away through a free ad on the internet to a family that didn't have anytime to walk her.

They surrendered her to the humane society, where she was very, very fearful of all of the sounds and smells, so she hid in the corner. A rescue group took her in and now she is a very sweet loveable girl.

She would like nothing more than to snuggle with you with and an electric blanket. Kleo is currently being cared for by Hopes Haven in Salem, Oregon.

For more information about Kleo, click here!

Meet Sara!

Sara is a lovely girl, who looks very much like a short haired collie..but we think she's a mix, and may have another herding breed in her ancestry - perhaps German Shepherd or Belgian Tervuren?

Whatever her pedigree, she's a beautiful dog who is waiting for a loving family to come and claim her as their own. Come see Sara, perhaps take her for a stroll around the shelter grounds. She might just be the perfect dog for you!

We found Sara currently being cared for by the SPCA in Cattaraugus County in Olean, New York.

Meet Ivan!

Ivan is a beautiful 6 year old Akbash or white Anatolian boy with light tan spots. Everyone that meets him is in love!

He was originally strictly kept outside with goats, but was sold since he “played” too much with the goats . He has been with chickens and he did fantastic. He is also good with cats and another female Anatolian. He loves people and craves attention. He would do best as a hobby farm dog, as he does like to do his bark when out at night every hour or so to “warn the enemies” that he is around.

Ivan needs to be contained in a fence that he is not able to climb. He walks on a leash and can now climb stairs, but is fearful still if you raise an object or a hand to him. He still does not like to take food from your hand, but will, and his rescuers have broken him of guarding his food.

We found Ivan currently being cared for by The National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network in Queen Creek, Arizona; although Ivan is located in Vermont.

Meet Leo!

Leo is a male, approximately six years old. He is a big teddy bear - a family dog: he had never been away from his family. But sadly they left him at the shelter.

Leo loves to go on walks, his tail won't stop wagging when he sees you grab his leash! He also likes to sit down and cuddle with his body against your legs while being massaged, loves to give kisses and, even though he is a little older than the average dog who gets adopted, he acts like a big puppy as he rolls on his back and teases you to rub his tummy.

He loves baths and he isn't afraid of the water hose. If you love teddy bears, you will adore Leo!

We found Leo currently being cared for by Canine & Kitty Co-op in Long Beach, California.

Meet Rowdy!

Not much is known about Rowdy, but he is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

We found Rowdy currently being cared for by the folks at PAWS in Woodville, Texas. Here's a little about them...

They are currently working to find a place to call their own and are actively seeking land to house their shelter. If you, or someone you know from the Jefferson/Hardin/Tyler County (TX) area, would be interested in helping us realize their dream, please contact them.

They are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with tax exempt status from the IRS, so donations of land will be tax-deductible at the end of the year. They have placed many animals utilizing their foster program. Just imagine what we could accomplish as a community with a central shelter facility!
