Meet Sheldon!

Sheldon has made great improvements since he first came to rescue. He loves to interact with people and is very sociable. He loves to go for walks and gets along well with other dogs. His rescuers are confident that Sheldon will contine to improve if the adoptive family continues to work with him.

Sheldon is a male Yorki estimated at 4-5 years old that came to rescue from a puppy mill. The conditions where he came from were less than desirable. When considering adoption of a puppy mill dog, keep in mind they need lots of time and understanding as they have lived their lives in cages and used to breed litter after litter. The foster home is starting the process of socializing Sheldon, as human contact is usually minimal. Please realize that Sheldon will need lots of love and patience.

Meet Annie!

Meet Annie. She was surrendered by her owner because they said they could no longer take care of her. Now she is in a foster home with lots of other play mates.

She gets along very well with dogs, cats, and people. Annie is kind, gentle and a little timid. When she arrived she was skin and bones and had no appetite. She was probably fending for herself for quite awhile. It has been challenging to get her to eat anything, but she is beginning to respond. She does not like dog food, but she has been eating a very special diet of beef, chicken, and lots of other good things for her health.

Annie went to the vet and was tested for heart worms and parasites. The tests were all negative! She is up to date on all of her shots and is estimated to be around eight years of age. She does have a problem with fleas. They will not leave her alone and they cause her to have a rash.

Annie is very well behaved inside and out. She walks politely on a leash and rides well in a car. She has a beautiful trot. She does not seem to know anything about playing and having fun. We are working on that.

Annie is a precious angel that loves to share hugs. She spends most of her time quietly napping. She enjoys a good run around the yard, too. She will need some extra attention until she can get some meat back on her bones.

If you are looking for a quiet sweet companion to nurture and love then Annie is your girl.

Meet Barney!

Today we're turning it over to Barney!

"My name is Barney and I am a beagle mix. I am a small to mid-size dog. I weigh about 32 pounds. I am a hound, so I love singing and sniffing. I love kids and women. However, because of my past I may be fearful of men until we get to know each other. I have bursts of energy and love to be outside, but love to be inside and involved in what you are doing.

I would do best with a small yard that has a fence in good repair. I love car rides, short and long walks, and I love games where you try and hide the treat in a small box and let me figure out how to open. I am house trained and will shake your hand. If you scratch or rub in front of my ears, I melt to the floor . I will make sure when you are not home, that whoever is at the door, they know I am. I prefer to be the only dog, but I will do ok with another male or female dog, but the other dog must understand that I may be a little bossy on occasion."

"Hi, I'm Buster Brown. I am not sure what happened, but someone found me lost and took me to their veterinarian who tried to find my owners, but no one claimed me. I was really scared and confused.

Lucky for me, things finally turned around. After 10 days of being inside a kennel, this nice lady offered to foster me at her home. She has two dogs and I like them a lot. We play all day in the backyard when my foster mom is at work, and then come inside to eat, play some more, and sleep.

She takes me to the dog park on the weekend and I get to play with lots of other dogs and many nice people pat me on the head and tell me what a beautiful dog I am. I hope to have a family all my own, and that thought makes me smile."

Meet Cheeky!

Cheeky is a 3-5 year old Chihuahua who weighs about 7 lbs. Cheeky came to rescue as a mama of five babies from a local puppy mill bust.

She was a wonderful mother, but sadly, Cheeky has seen all of her babies get adopted, and she is still searching...which is so often the case with mama dogs.

Cheeky is shy at first, but give her a few weeks and she will have you rolling in laughter with her antics. She is a sassy girl, who loves to steal shiny things and take them to her crate or bed. She doesn't chew them, just kind of likes to stash things in case she is ever in situation where she might need, oh, let's see...your cell phone?

Cheeky does well with outside potty time once she adjusts to a new situation (about a week or so seems to be her time frame)...she is great with other dogs and loves to play...enjoys snuggling under the blankets with her human and romping in the grass in her fenced in foster yard.

We found Cheeky through Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue in Thompson's Station, Tennessee.

Bosco's mother was a beautiful purebred boxer. She came into rescue pregnant, and had her litter here. Papa was obviously a black lab, as Bosco looks like a smaller black lab. Although he doesn't look like a boxer, he has a boxer temperament.

We found Bosco through Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue in Brentwood, Tennessee.
