Meet Cody!

Cody is a very sweet and loving pup who is good with other dogs, but not too good with cats.

Cody would not be a good dog with kids as he seems a bit fearful of young children, but is wonderful and very loving with adults. You are definitely going to want to break out the cigar to celebrate the homecoming of this little one!

Meet Elijah!

Elijah is an adult neutered male Beagle, 31.1 lbs. He was found on Old Trail Road near Sprakers, New York and came to the shelter on June 17, 2012.

He loves to play with tennis balls. Elijah is fine with other dogs and with cats.

We found Elijah through the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter in Sprakers, New York.

Meet Straw!

"I'm a sweet, nice boy - a really good looking, medium sized guy. Won't you come meet me?"

Meet Cheetoh!

Cheetoh is a very nice three year old dog. He needs regular grooming appointments because of that beautiful coat. He is a great dog for a family with allergies.

Meet Winnie!

A year or two old, Winnie is a Husky/Lab mix, and she is an outgoing girl. She seems to be housebroken, and also has the ability to learn new manners.

When on a leash, she is a puller, but her rescuers are working with her and she shows improvement quickly.

Winnie looks like a pawsome hiking and beach dog, so you may want to be sure check out those metal detectors saleso you can pick up some treasures to go with Winnie the treasure!

Meet Keely!

Keely was severely emaciated and covered in fleas and ticks when she was dumped at a high-kill shelter with her puppies. Luckily for Keely and her babies, Heart Dog pulled them from the shelter in the nick of time and nursed Keely back to health.

Keelys puppies have all found their forever homes, and now it's Keely's turn. She is a total sweetheart and loves to cuddle. Her absolute favorite sleeping position is completely upside down with all four paws in the air.

She is playful and silly when you want to have a good time, but when youre ready to curl up with a book, she is right by your side snuggling and snoozing. Keely is easy going and gets along great with absolutely everyone including other dogs, cats and kids.

Meet Sheila!

Sheila is a very sweet girl! She has a laid back personality and gets along well with other dogs and very friendly with people.

 She had been used for breeding and was dumped at a kill shelter when Heidi's Legacy found her just in time! She has the wonderful qualities that come with being a momma dog - loving, laid back and affectionate.

Meet Libby!

At just 2 years old this Sheltie mix is full grown at only about 35 lbs. Libby is heartworm negative, spayed and current on vaccinations. She is full of energy and very loving, and of course, extremely beautiful!

Isbell, a sweet little bi black puppy, active, learning fast and will be ready for her forever home.

Meet Jimmie!

Jimmie is very playful and bold. When he wants attention he just comes right out and asks for it.

He is very affectionate and adaptable with other dogs though he prefers wrestling over running. He should be great with kids. He sometimes jumps on you but a firm off! will make him sit politely for attention. He has not been tested with cats. But isn't he cute! So cute you'll want to put those vids on the big flat screen with a nice flat panel mount, we know you will!

Meet Mariah!

Mariah is a beautiful long-haired shiny black dog who is 3 1/2 yrs old. She is very smart and attentive. We do not know much about Mariah's background since she was pulled from a local shelter.

She is fine with other dogs once she is properly introduced to them. She was very good at the groomers the same day she was pulled from the shelter. Mariah has come a long way since she was rescued and is a kennel favorite. She's come such a long way, we bet she'll be enjoying a nice ride on the cycle with good motorcycle tires in no time!

Meet Winter!

Winter is an adorable little American Eskimo Dog mix with a contagious smile! He is about 3 years old, weighs about 21 lbs, is neutered, is heartworm negative, and is up to date on shots.

He gets along great with people and with other dogs, and is very friendly overall. I bet Winter would love a good swim in a pool with it being so hot out; maybe a pool with an led pool light, so you can keep an eye on him?

Meet #1490!

#1490 is a young adult male lemon and white beagle with a sensitive little face. He doesn't have a name yet, but he loves the grass. He has a brown dot on top of his head. He is a happy boy with a little independent spirit. He has velvety beagle ears and loves to be petted. He is so sweet!

Meet Duffy!

Duffy is a six year old Lhasa Apso with the sweetest disposition you could want in a dog.

He has premature cataracts in both eyes and sees very little at present . HGHS is raising money to have surgery done, and will share surgical costs with his adopter.

Meet Smudge!

This is Smudge. Smudge is a senior pom that was owner surrendered to a KY shelter. He is quite a character and full of himself.

He has the funniest facial expressions and is every bit as smart as most of the people I know. He will make you laugh, make you cry with his efforts and make your heart just swell with love for him.

Smudge is housebroken, has just had a dental, been groomed, vaccinated and is neutered. He will play you like a fine tune so ya gotta stay a step ahead!

Meet Bella!

Bella is a 5-6 year old very active and playful little girl. She loves to wrestle and play with both her human and fur foster siblings.

She's great with kids, cats, other dogs and even crates well! She came to us in pretty bad shape so it's taken us awhile to get her ready for adoption. Her hair has finally grown back into a beautiful fluffy coat and all of her sores have healed.
