Meet Clara!

This is Clara, an adorable beagle girl. She weighs about 28 pounds and is a young beagle, less than 2 years old. She is very sweet and lovable, and very gentle. She likes to play every once in a while, but mostly like to just hang out with her humans. She gets along fine with the two beagles in my foster home, but she'd be fine as an only dog also.

We met Clara through the Houston Beagle and Hound Rescue in Houston, Texas. They are a small group of friends who are committed to rescuing needy Beagles and occasionally other Hounds from shelters, abandonment, neglect, and other dangerous situations.

Meet Kylie!

Kylie is a beagle/hound mix that was taken from a high kill shelter at six weeks old. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She has been placed in two different homes, neither working out for her. Kylie is a lovable dog that loves all other animals, people and going for walks. She is still looking for that right, forever family that will make her part of their family.

Meet Dixie Girl!

Dixie is a dainty and mellow 2 year old beagle. She is recovering from a broken leg and collar bone with no complaints. As if that wasn't enough for a little 13' beagle to deal with, she is also being treated for heartworms, but none of this has dampened her cuddly nature and sweet disposition. Dixie gets along well with other dogs in her foster home and when she met a cat nose-to-nose, she wasn't phased in the least, although the cat was somewhat perplexed by Dixie's nonchalant behavior. Dixie is crate-trained and almost completely house-trained.

We found Dixie currently being cared for by PAW-fect Match Rescue in Holly Springs, North Carolina. They are an all-volunteer rescue organization devoted to saving dogs from shelters, puppy mills, abusive situations, and abandonment in North Carolina. Their members foster, transport, and help the rescue efforts with their individual skills, experience, knowledge and expertise, and most importantly, their love of dogs.

Meet Lucky!

Lucky is one lucky dog! He was spotted in the Rockdale, GA shelter by a rescuer, who contacted a friend who contacted Atlanta Beagle Rescue.

Lucky is completely blind. They suspect from birth or a very young age. He is still quite a puppy - maybe 9 months to a year old. Other than the blindness he seems perfectly healthy and happy.

Blind dogs can have just as a fulfilling and wonderful life as sighted dogs and with a dog friend to pal around with Lucky will make a wonderful family pet. We hope that we will be able to place him here in the Atlanta area, but he will have a home at Rolling Dog Ranch if we can't.

Meet Apple!

Apple recently had puppies - three males and one female. Since mom is Apple, the folks Heartland Animal Life Organization in Flaherty, Kentucky have named the puppies after pies.... Derby, Pecan, Custard and Pumpkin.

Apple is a female beagle, about 5 to 7 years old. She was rescued from an Indiana shelter where she was picked up as a stray in an apple orchard. She has a very sweet temperament and loves young children. She seems to get along great with the other dogs as well.

HALO rescues dogs and cats from local shelters. These animals would otherwise be euthanized. We are dedicated to saving as many lives as we can, and educating the community about pet welfare and the importance of altering your pet.
