Meet Cole!

Cole is a handsome, good natured big red 6 year old boy. He is very gentle, attentive, and easy going - his tail wags non stop. He's quite tall so small children might be overwhelmed by him, although his manners are good.

Cole is crate trained although he does not need crating, as he's well behaved in the house unattended. He does whine when left outside.

He loves food, loves to swim and fetch in the pool and he loves to sleep on the bed! He is great with other dogs - we don’t know yet about cats.

We found Cole currently being cared for by Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas. Their mission is to rescue, care for, and place in permanent loving homes, neglected or unwanted Golden Retrievers and to educate the general public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Golden Retriever breed in the North Texas area.

Meet Shawna!

Shawna is a 5 year old Irish Setter/Golden mix. She was relinguished to a shelter that was going to put her down until we came to her rescue. Shawna is a great dog that deserves a second chance with a loving family. She really is one in a million!

We found Shawna currently being cared for by Pets In Need in Ringwood, Illinois. Pets In Need Midwest was founded in 1991 by Pat and Rudy Klimo in Ringwood, Illinois. They are a state licensed, no-kill, non-profit animal shelter. Pets In Need Midwest is registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. They do not receive any government funding, relying solely on adoption fees, private donations, and fund raising activities. Our mission is to "Champion the humane treatment of domesticated animals".

Meet Macy!

Macy is 4 years old and is a very pretty girl. She was adopted once and her new family was very happy with me until I started not getting along with the other family dogs.

She tried to play nice, but what she really wants is just to be somebody's baby and not have to compete for attention. She is looking for that special someone who just wants one dog to love forever and ever.

Macy is currently being cared for Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc., a non-profit volunteer organization with the mission of securing safe, loving homes for displaced or homeless Golden Retrievers. They receive Golden Retrievers from owners who can no longer care for them because of changing circumstances in their lives. We maintain close working relationships with animal shelters in Sacramento, Sutter, Placer, El Dorado and surrounding counties in California to ensure that Goldens are relinquished to us prior to being euthanized.

Meet Simon!

Simon was turned in to Sumter County Animal Control by his owner because she was afraid he was going to knock down her elderly mother.

He is a typical, affectionate Golden Retriever who loves to snuggle against you. Simon is heartworm positive, so he will need to be treated before going to his new home. Once that is done, however, he will be looking for someone special to love. He seems to be housebroken, and he rides well in a car. Simon is 4 years old according to his former owners.

We found Simon currently being cared for by HoundHaven in central Florida. Houndhaven, Inc. rescues dogs and puppies from euthanasia at kill shelters, and cares for them until they can be placed in loving homes or with another rescue group. They believe that these lives are precious, and we are strictly a no kill organization. Our mission is life.

Meet Tobey!

Tobey is an 8-year-old, red-gold, neutered male. He loves being with people and has a seemingly unlimited capacity for being petted. Tobey loves attention and recently graduated from a beginning obedience course.

He gets along with other dogs, although he prefers to be the top dog. He loves his foster's neighbors’ kids, but since he was a stray and his background is unknown, it may be best if he is not placed in a home with small children. Tobey absolutely loves riding in the car and swimming, too.

We found Tobey currently being cared for by GRREAT. They are a non-profit, all volunteer staffed organization active in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. metropolitan areas. Their primary goal is to find qualified new homes for unwanted, stray or abandoned Golden Retrievers.

Meet Baxter!

Baxter is a two year old mail Golden, about 70-90 pounds. He's good with other dogs and children, cats are unknown at this time.

He has settled in wonderfully at his foster home. He loves playing with the other two dogs. He paws, head butts and talks to get attention, which is quite frequent. He is learning that only sitting nicely gets rewarded. He's somewhat tentative having his collar and leash on, but he is progressing. He's enjoying his morning runs/hikes and has been in heaven with all the water...will play, lay, roll, but not swim in it. He loves fetching balls, and always has to have two, not one, in his mouth.

Baxter is currently being cared for by a foster home associated with Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin.

Meet Perry!

Perry is part of a litter from a farm with too many dogs. He was born about 7/14/07 and is now 8 weeks old and ready to find himself a home able to give him some attention.

These fuzzy pups are an unknown mix that seem to grow to about 55 pounds. Grandmother appears to be a white husky. The rest of the dogs are long haired shades of white, cream, and light gold. Perry is white but stands out because his nose is more pink than black.

Perry is currently being cared for by Swiss Friends of Animals, Inc., in Patriot, Indiana. Swiss Friends of Animals receives funds from the local United Fund to help county residents have their cats and small dogs spayed or neutered. This funding supplements a national grant for spaying or neutering large dogs (45 pounds and over). Together, both funding sources provide a beneficial program for residents of Switzerland County, helping to control unwanted litters of puppies and kittens, which result in the stray and abandoned animal problem.
