Meet Tarzan!
Tarzan is such a wonderful, funny little guy. He looks like a miniature brown shepherd. He is not going to be a big dog - maybe only about 30 pounds or so. He is very social, outgoing and happy.
Tarzan and his litter mates were rescued off of Hwy. 6 in the Hempstead, Texas area. They had been dumped on the side of the road. They were only about 5 weeks old. Now Tarzan is about 6 - 7 months old.
Yes, he does think he is a big shot and he is a bit spoiled. He wants to be into everybody else's business - cause he's the man! He plays very well with other dogs and cats and loves people. We can't say enough about this plain, little brown dog.
Tarzan is currently being cared for by the nice folks at Country Paws Rescue and Adoption Shelter in Hempstead, Texas. The rescue abandoned, dumped, abused, neglected, handicapped, sick and otherwise unwanted animals.
The need in Waller County is great as there are no city or county facilities and nothing planned in the near future. Animals are dumped and abandoned at an exceedingly high rate and have nowhere to go.
Country Paws Rescue is a 501(c)(3), non-profit rescue shelter and adoption facility. They currently house and care for approximately 300 unwanted animals.

Meet Charlie!
Charlie is a cute, energetic Jack Russell terrier/beagle mix who is still under a year old. He is happy and friendly, just like a pup should be. Charlie loves other dogs and he does well with people.
He walks pretty well on the leash, though running around is something he's better at. Charlie has an injured leg that will always have a little bend in it, but it doesn't slow him down a bit. He's a smart one, and he can show you the sit command, though he tends not to sit still for long.
Charlie is currently being cared for by the Animal Defense League in San Antonio, Texas. The Animal Defense League is the largest 'no-kill' non-profit animal shelter in the Southwest, celebrating over 70 years of operation. They provide healing and compassion for thousands of animals annually, and find loving homes for them every day.
